Henry James de Audley (James de Aldithley) 
Henry was born in 1222 in Heleigh Castle, Audley, Staffordshire, England.1 Henry's father was Baron of Audley Henry de Audley and his mother was Beatred de Mainwaring. His paternal grandparents were Adam Aldithley and Emma Fitz Radulphus; his maternal grandparents were Sir Ralph de Mainwaring and Amicia le Meschines. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Adam, Ralph, Alice and Emme. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 54 on June 11th, 1276 in Ireland.1 General Notes
James D'Audley was born about 1220 and was keeper of the castle of New Castle under Lyme. He was Sheriff of Salop and County Stafford and Justiciar of Ireland 1270-72. He took an active part on the King's side against the barons in 1264. He married 1244 Ela de Longspee, who brought him the manors of Stratton and Wretchwick in frank marriage. He was thrown from his horse and his neck broken June 11, 1271. His widow died shortly before Nov. 22, 1299
