John Berton Skaggs 
John Berton was born on June 20th, 1886 in Kentucky.1 John Berton's father was William Anderson Skaggs and his mother was Martha Francis Nelson. His paternal grandparents were William L. Skaggs and Mary Johnson. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William Thomas, Bennie Dever, Miles Talmadge, Henry Matt, Emma Green, Bessie Alice and Mary Lela Rebecca. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 41 in August 1927 in Garland Co., Arkansas.1 General Notes
