Josiah was born in 1780 in Rockingham Co, NC.1 Josiah's father was Naman Roberts and his mother was Mary A. G. Unknown. His paternal grandparents were James Roberts and Elizabeth Lightfoot. He had three brothers named Martin, William and James. He was the oldest of the four children.1 General Notes
