John Roberts 
John was born in 1846 in Rockingham Co, NC.1 John's father was Samuel Roberts and his mother was Nancy A. Rawley. His paternal grandparents were Martin Roberts and Elizabeth Gilliland. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph James, Frances, Daughter, Sarah 'Sallie', Adaline and Lucy Victoria. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 14 in 1860.1 General Notes
