Burrell S. was born in 1808 in Rockingham Co, NC.1 Burrell S.'s father was Henry Roberts and his mother was Rebecca Anna Thomas. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Roberts and Sarah Joyce. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Anderson, Joseph Henry, Henry B., King, Allen, Daughter, Daughter and Mary Polly. He was the second oldest of the ten children.1 General Notes
