His paternal grandparents were Nelson NORMAN and Polley OAKES. He had four brothers and four sisters, named James Wesley, J. William, Samuel O., Infant, Mary Ann Elizabeth, Letitia S., Sarah Melissa and Nancy Alice. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died before 1873.General Notes
Apparently died before 1873 since he did not sign the deed, given by his mother to James Semple, of Henry Co., VA. at that time.
