Courtney W. NORMAN Sr. 
Courtney W. was born in 1822 in Henry Co., VA.. Courtney W.'s father was Nelson NORMAN and his mother was Polley OAKES. His paternal grandparents were William NORMAN Sr. and Elizabeth LANE. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Burwell, James B., Henry J., Sallie G. and Louisa. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 40 on April 5th, 1862 in Gordonsville, Orange Co., VA.. He was buried in Maplewood Cem., Gordonsville, Orange Co., VA..General Notes
Died of pneumonia while in the Confererate Army.
Some 700 Confererate Soldiers were buried in Maplewood Cemetery.
