Dora Gertrude was born on July 14th, 1877 in , Crawford County, Arkansas, USA.1 Dora Gertrude's father was Thomas Henry Kimes and her mother was Alice Shipley. Her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Franklin Shipley and Mary Sharp Lester. She had six brothers named James Cornelius, F. M., Joseph Lafayette, George Washington, Charles W. and Benjamin Valentine. She was the oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 40 on November 4th, 1917 in , Crawford County, Arkansas, USA. She was buried in Kimes Cemetery (also called Westview), Chester, Crawford County, Arkansas, USA.2 General Notes
