His maternal grandparents were Benjamin Franklin Shipley and Mary Sharp Lester. He had five brothers and a sister, named James Cornelius, F. M., Joseph Lafayette, George Washington, Benjamin Valentine and Dora Gertrude. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 1 on July 6th, 1886 in , Crawford County, Arkansas, USA. He was buried in Kimes Cemetery, (also known as Westview Cemetery), , Crawford County, Arkansas, USA.2 2 -
