Alice was born on May 20th, 1861 in , Crawford County, Arkansas, USA.1 Alice's father was Benjamin Franklin Shipley and her mother was Mary Sharp Lester. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Franklin SHIPLEY and Sarah "Sally" BURKETT. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William Nathan, Samuel S., Walter, Benjamin Franklin, Harrison Edmond, Margaret and Virginia Mae. She was the oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 28 on June 7th, 1889 in , Tulare County, California, USA. She was buried in Woodlake District Cemetery, Woodlake, Tulare County, California, USA.1 1 General Notes
