James Arthur Kern 
James Arthur was born on June 20th, 1884 in Franklin Co, IL.1 James Arthur's father was Gettis Montgomery Berryhill Kern and his mother was Nancy 'Nannie' Lydie Turner. His maternal grandparents were Monroe L. Turner and Martha Leah Grant. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Clifford D., William, Samuel Jones, Omer D., William Glenn, Pearly May, Nellie L., Carrie, Ivy R., Ruby Furman and Lottie Marie. He was the third oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 89 on May 29th, 1974 in Hamilton Co, IL.1 General Notes
