John Joyce 
John was born in 1851 in Henry Co, VA.1 John's father was Martin James Joyce and his mother was Sarah Anne Roberts. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Roberts and Sarah Joyce. He had five brothers and four sisters, named James M., William, Thomas Roberts, Lafayette W., Joseph Sidney, Eliza Jane, Nancy, Martha Susan and Lucinda. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Robert Alexander and Caroline M.. He died at the age of 31 in 1882 in Osage Co, MO. He was buried in Wilhoit Cemetery, Osage Co, MO.1 1 General Notes
