Sir John Hamilton

John was born in 1371 in Cadzow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ John's father was David Hamilton and his mother was Janet Keith. His paternal grandparents were David FitzWalter Hamilton and Margaretha Lessley; his maternal grandparents were Sir William de Keith and Margaret Fraser. He had four brothers and a sister, named William, Andrew, John, David and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the six children. He had a half-sister named Janet. He died as a war casualty, Battle of Homildon, at the age of 31 on September 14th, 1402 in Homildon, Northumberland, England.¹
