Laura Emmaline was born on July 14th, 1852 in Buncombe Co., N.C.. Laura Emmaline's father was John Holmes GENTRY and her mother was Sarah R. BALL. Her maternal grandparents were Sampson Harrison BALL and Rosanna NORMAN. She had four brothers and six sisters, named William Sampson C., Thomas Jefferson, George Washington T., Elijah Young, Rosanne E., Lucinda, Elizabeth S., Harriet Jane, Sophronia Josephine and Sarah Catherine. She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 78 on August 17th, 1930 in Buncombe Co., N.C.. She was buried in N. Carolina.-
