Martha A was born in 1842 in Ky. Martha A's father was James Ward Foster and her mother was Susanna Huffman. Her paternal grandparents were Bartlett Foster and Susanna Higdon. She had five brothers and a sister, named Robert Elam, Joseph "Joe " Riley, Joseph A, William E, James H and Mary Susanna. She was the oldest of the seven children.-
