Garrett Van was born on October 27th, 1866 in Coal Creek Twp., Montgomery Co., IN, US.1 Garrett Van's father was Thomas Martin Foster and his mother was Cynthia Ann Jolly. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Hillery Foster and Harriet Bevill. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John Buck, Franklin, Mary Harriet, Ossie Myrtle, Mussetta Grace and Osa Myrtle. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 47 on October 13th, 1914 in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN, US.-
