Susan Despain 
Susan was born in 1817 in Green Co, KY. Susan's father was William Despain and her mother was Sarah Lewis. Her paternal grandparents were James Scott DeSpain and Susan (Sally) Peterson. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Jeremiah (?), James, Lewis T, Benjamin Ryan, William "Buck", Rachel, Lucinda, Sarah and Suellen (Luella). She was the second oldest of the ten children. She died in ca IL.General Notes
Susan married William Mutter the son of Adam and Martha Mutter in Green County in 1834. William Despain was on bond and Adam Mutter gave consent. They moved to IL soon afterwards.
William Mutter was living next to William Despain in the 1840 Census Warren Co, IL.

Susan was not listed as an heir of William DeSpain in any of the Green Co. deed book entries.. It is not known if this was an over sight because William and Susan (Despain) Mutter were still living in IL or for some other reason.
