An obituary for Claudie appeared in "The Paris News", Monday, April 3, 2003. It reads as follows:
"Claudie Dudley, 91, of Deport died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2000, at his home. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. Freddy Burden officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dudley was born Sept. 18, 1908, in Lamar County to Rufus and EllaTalley Dudley. He married Lois Stansell Sept 23, 1929 in Hugo, Okla. He worked for the W.P.A. in Lamar County and was a caterpillar operator for 30 years. He was a deacon and member of First Baptist Church in Deport.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jerry Dudley of Deport and Rodger Dudley and wife Linda of Duncanville; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, three brothers; and a grandson."
