Joshua R. was born on March 4th, 1780 in Caswell Co., N. C.. Joshua R.'s father was Joshua BROWNING Sr. and his mother was Margaret RANKIN. His paternal grandparents were John Browning and Elizabeth DEMAREST. He had a brother and four sisters, named John, Anne, Mary, Margaret and Nancy. He was the oldest of the six children. He had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Thomas, James, Edmund Woodville, Jacob, John, Hannah, Annie, Mary Malinda and Jennie. He died about 1844 in Copiah, MS..-
