Francis Coleman was born on March 10th, 1811 in Logan Co., KY.. Francis Coleman's father was George Strother BROWNING and his mother was Gillian Ann Coleman COVINGTON. His paternal grandparents were Lieutenant John BROWNING Sr. and Betty (Betty). He had nine brothers and three sisters, named Daniel Byron, John Covington, Quinton, Robert Covington, Phillip Warden, William Winston, Elijah Bruce, Charles Reuben, George Franklin, Lucy Ann Elizabeth, Margaret and Mildred.
