Mary Ann Akin 
Mary Ann was born in 1850 in Salem, Henry Co, Iowa, USA. Mary Ann's father was James Akin and her mother was Eliza Richey. Her paternal grandparents were James Akin and Mary Murphy. She had three brothers and four sisters, named James, John L, Franklin Street, Elizabeth, Nancy, Frances R and Caroline. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 2 in October 1852 in In the Cascades in Oregon along the Oregon Trail.General Notes
