Giles(?)'s father was Garrett Turman Sr and his mother was Mary Giles. His paternal grandparents were George Turman Sr and Elizabeth Higgenbotham; his maternal grandfather was John Giles. He had a brother and two sisters, named Garrett T., Rebecca and Matilda Garten.
