Garrett T. was born about 1800 in Georgia.  Garrett T.'s father was Garrett Turman Sr and his mother was Mary Giles.  His paternal grandparents were George Turman Sr and Elizabeth Higgenbotham; his maternal grandfather was John Giles. He had a brother and two sisters, named Giles(?), Rebecca and Matilda Garten.  He died about 1875 in Lick Creek, (Hickman Co.), Tennessee.
