Reuben Clark was born in Northampton in 1767. Northampton Town Records list him as a Hayward in 1789, a Fence Viewer in1791, Tax Collectorin 1793, 1794 and 1795 and Surveyor of Ways in 1795.
He married Susanna Rising of Southwick in Northampton in 1792 and on 14July1799, he and his brother, Levi, bought a 140 acre farm in Westhampton for $1500. He had moved to Westhampton by 20 Oct 1800, when he bought an additional 15 acres with no buildings in Westhampton and a 10 3/4 acre woodlot.
Westhampton Town Records list him as a Constable in 1801 and 1802 and in 1802, he was a member of a committee to confer with Rev. Enoch Hale regarding his salary. He was a member of the school committee in 1802 and 1808, a Tythingman in in 1803, on the School Committee again in 1812 and 1822, Moderator of Town Meeting in 1813 and 1821 and Surveyor of Ways in 1813, 1818, 1822 and 1825.
Reuben Clark died Intestate in Westhampton in 1826 and was buried in Center Cemetery there.
