David was born on November 27th, 1769 in Ebenezer, Effingham Co., GA.1   David's father was John George Zeigler and his mother was Anna Catherine Rau. He had a brother and five sisters, named Immanuel, Hannah Elizabeth, Hannah Elizabeth, Mary J., Catherine and Ann Margaret.  He died about 1826.1
