Catherine was born on August 25th, 1767 in Ebenezer, Effingham Co., GA.1   Catherine's father was John George Zeigler and her mother was Anna Catherine Rau. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Immanuel, David, Hannah Elizabeth, Hannah Elizabeth, Mary J. and Ann Margaret.1
