William C. was born on March 16th, 1810 in Uwchland, Pennsylvania.1   William C.'s father was Joseph Williams and his mother was Mary Cooper.  His paternal grandparents were Daniel Williams and Mary Strahl; his maternal grandparents were William Cooper and Sybella Unknown. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Jason, Daniel, Mary S., Hannah C., Eliza and Martha.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 69 on July 31st, 1879.1
