Daniel was born on July 13th, 1813 in Uwchland, Pennsylvania.1   Daniel's father was Joseph Williams and his mother was Mary Cooper.  His paternal grandparents were Daniel Williams and Mary Strahl; his maternal grandparents were William Cooper and Sybella Unknown. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Jason, William C., Mary S., Hannah C., Eliza and Martha.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 83 in 1896.1
