Living's father was Charles Henry Wheeler and his mother was Grace Mae Baird.  His maternal grandparents were William Allen Baird and Mary Colorado Hamilton. He had a brother and a sister, named Living and Living. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named John Henry, Bonnie Jean, Hazel Floella and Helen Pauline.
