John was born on April 14th, 1698 in Lyme, New London, CT.1 John's father was George Way and his mother was Sarah Neast. His paternal grandparents were George Way and Elizabeth Smith; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Neast and Sarah Bodington. He had four brothers and three sisters, named George, Joseph, Elliph, Thomas, Sarah, Elizabeth and Mehetabel.1 General Notes
