Jane was born on February 19th, 1778.1   Jane's father was John Watson and her mother was Sarah Stratton.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Watson and Margarette Gray. She had a sister named Thankful.  She was the younger of the two children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Samuel Smith, John S and Sarah.1
