Alfred was born on August 6th, 1874 in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa.1   Alfred's father was Alfred Voyce and his mother was Laura Emma Fifield. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Henry, Mark, Frank, Clarance, Ezra, Melinda, Annie, Emma and Elmina.  He was the third oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 68 on December 19th, 1942.1
