Anne was born on March 14th, 1786 in Mansfield Monthly Meeting, New Jersey.1   Anne's father was Joseph Vanlaw and her mother was Mary Craft.  Her paternal grandparents were Preston Vanlaw and Judah Unknown; her maternal grandparents were George Craft and Mary Unknown. She had five brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas, Joseph, George, Samuel and Mary.  She was the oldest of the seven children.1
