Josephine was born in 1853.1   Josephine's father was Louis Traub and her mother was Barbara. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Conrad, Louis, John, Charles, Philip, Wilhelm, Carl, Caroline, Barbara, Dora and Theresia.  She was the third oldest of the twelve children.1
