Caroline was born in 1857.1   Caroline's father was Louis Traub and her mother was Barbara. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Conrad, Louis, John, Charles, Philip, Wilhelm, Carl, Josephine, Barbara, Dora and Theresia.  She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.1
