Mary Ann was born on October 17th, 1810.1   Mary Ann's father was Frederick Thomas and her mother was Nancy Unknown.  Her paternal grandfather was Joseph Thomas. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Aaron, Henderson, Darius, Joseph, Watson, Katherine and Patsy.1
