Katherine was born on November 24th, 1816.1   Katherine's father was Frederick Thomas and her mother was Nancy Unknown.  Her paternal grandfather was Joseph Thomas. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Aaron, Henderson, Darius, Joseph, Watson, Mary Ann and Patsy.1
