Henderson was born on January 29th, 1812.1   Henderson's father was Frederick Thomas and his mother was Nancy Unknown.  His paternal grandfather was Joseph Thomas. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Aaron, Darius, Joseph, Watson, Mary Ann, Katherine and Patsy.1
