Lincoln was born in 1845.1   Lincoln's father was Elisha Thomas and his mother was Rachael Forst.  His paternal grandparents were Marchant Thomas and Jemima Hamilton. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Byred, Vincent, William, James, Washington, Jackson, Burman, Susan and Sarah Jane.  He was the oldest of the ten children.1
