Ellen Jane Tate

¹ Ellen Jane's father was Samuel Tate and her mother was Sarah Strayhorn. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Tate and Anne Unknown; her maternal grandparents were William Strayhorn and Mary Hunter. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Pinkney, Thomas, William, Jane Louisa, Eliza Harriet, Charity, Mary and Sarah Anne.¹
