Jane Steele 
Jane was born on April 24th, 1845.1 Jane's father was John Steele and her mother was Mary Ann Elmhirst. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Steele and Mary Beckett; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Elmhirst and Mary Ann Toyne. She had five brothers and five sisters, named James, John, Richard, Joseph, Robert, Mary, Hannah, Margaret, Marion and Harriet E.. She was the second oldest of the eleven children.1 -
