James Steele 
James was born on September 25th, 1854.1 James' father was John Steele and his mother was Mary Ann Elmhirst. His paternal grandparents were Robert Steele and Mary Beckett; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Elmhirst and Mary Ann Toyne. He had four brothers and six sisters, named John, Richard, Joseph, Robert, Mary, Jane, Hannah, Margaret, Marion and Harriet E.. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.1 -
