Henry G. was born on February 20th, 1841 in Swanton, VT.1 Henry G.'s father was William H. Stearns and his mother was Arathusa E. Smith. His maternal grandparents were John Smith and Esther Austin. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Erastus, George B., Charlotte A., Mary E., Adaline A., Margrit G. "Maggie" and Martha H.. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 78 on March 15th, 1919 in St. Paul, MN.1 -
