Erastus Stearns 
Erastus was born on September 18th, 1846 in Swanton, VT.1 Erastus' father was William H. Stearns and his mother was Arathusa E. Smith. His maternal grandparents were John Smith and Esther Austin. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Henry G., George B., Charlotte A., Mary E., Adaline A., Margrit G. "Maggie" and Martha H.. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 15 on August 20th, 1862 in Baton Rouge, LA.1 -
