Jared was born in Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.1 Jared's father was Jared Spencer and his mother was Hannah Pratt. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Spencer and Sarah Bearding. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Nathaniel, Nathaniel, Hannah, Mary, Sarah and Elizabeth. He died on June 13th, 1754 in New Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. In Town Hill Cem. is buried Jared Spencer and prob. his wife though there is no stone for her.To the right of Jared, there is space with no stones, but to the left is bu. Rachel, wife of Capt. John Spencer d. 1828. Then Rememberance, wife of Nathaniel, then John, then Submit, dau. jof John (inscription on same stone), Michael son of John.
