Jincy was born on May 30th, 1880 in Bulloch Co., GA.1   Jincy's father was Matthew Carter Smith and her mother was Victoria Brannen.  Her paternal grandparents were Israel Smith and Adeline S. Carter; her maternal grandparents were Hampton Brannen and Nancy Riggs. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Joshua, William Hampton, Lovin Erastus, James, Rosa Dell, Eliza, Eugenia, Savillie Victoria, Mittie and Molly.  She was the second oldest of the eleven children. She had a half-sister named Frances Isabel.  She died at the age of 78 on April 23rd, 1959.1
