Samuel was born in 1813.1   Samuel's father was Leonard Shroyer and his mother was Martha. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Philip, Simon, John, Leonard, Daniel, Elizabeth, Polly and Anna.  He was the second youngest of the nine children.  He died in Jefferson Twp., Tuscarawas Co., Ohio.1
