Elizabeth was born in 1614 in Downton, Wilts, England and her baptism took place in 1614 in Downton Parish, Wilts, Eng.1   Elizabeth's father was John Saunders and her mother was Alice Coles. She had three brothers and a sister, named John, Joseph, Moses and Sarah.  She was the second oldest of the five children.1
