Jane Elizabeth was born on August 14th, 1833 in Boone County, Indiana.1   Jane Elizabeth's father was Joseph Remington and her mother was Mary ("Polly") Johnson.  Her paternal grandfather was Jacob Remington; her maternal grandparents were Reuben Johnaon and Phoebe Johnaon. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William M., Jacob, Mary A. and Phoebe.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 71 on August 8th, 1905 in Decatur County, Kansas.1
