Joseph was born on August 7th, 1794 in North Carolina.1   Joseph's father was Jacob Remington. He had two brothers and a sister, named Isaac, Jacob and Lydia N..  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 75 on November 18th, 1869 in Urbana, Benton Co., Iowa.1
